My Dreams
Brandy Skelton

November 2005

I rush to go to sleep
But not for what it seems,
It's because the only place i can see her
Is at night, in my dreams.

I get to see her laugh
To run about about and play,
You see these are things
I do not get in the day.

I get to be her mommy
I can wipe away her tears,
And if there is something wrong
I can chase away her fears.

I get to hug and kiss her
And hold her so very tight,
These are things I'm allowed
But only for the night.

I get to see her face
Touch her beautiful hair,
These are the things
That only she and i share.

So I'm off to sleep tonight
But not for what it seems,
I get to be with her
But only in my dreams.
