A Letter to a Friend Showing Signs of Miscarrying
by Cathy Agugu

We are all born from some amazing thing, some amazing energy that brings forth a living being, maybe there is somewhere that 'souls' exist and wait. They come into a human life and live for that life and go back to this place when they die. Some people know this as heaven, some people just know that some other dimension exists, and God somehow plays a part.

Whenever we are in touch with our souls it is a very calming experience. Souls have a wisdom. Through our lives we grow in wisdom, this is a long journey and they are beautiful things to get to know better. Through that knowing comes an experience of fulfilment, purpose and peace.

When we are pregnant we have a strong sense of this new thing, being, entity, baby, beginning inside us and very soon we have a profound love for it. A large part of what we are 'in relationship with' is this new soul. This soul has joined our family and although we have not seen it's face or shared it's name, it is immediately precious to us.

And that soul is on it's own journey. Some last a hundred years, do amazing things in the world and everyone knows of them. Some journeys last only a few days, some end before the woman even knows she was pregnant. Some are deeply loved and anticipated by mothers who will grieve for their loss.

Every soul is grateful for their journey and at peace with it for there is no such thing as 'wrong' or 'should' or 'how life is supposed to go' in the knowing of souls.

Souls are at peace alive within us, and they are also at peace in the waiting world.

So not all babies make it through pregnancy. Yours already knows you and your family and is very grateful for all the love it has already received.

This baby may be born and may live long and delight you and drive you mad and love you all and educate you all, or it may miscarry and not be born.

Either way the soul of this baby is grateful. It knows you, it knows everything about you already. All your hopes, fears, abilities, limits, secrets, longings. It knows it all. It has met you and loved you.

And it is on it's own journey which may not mean being born.

This soul is at peace with the universe and it came to you and it may stay with you and it may not, but either way it wants you to know it is at peace.

What it wants for you also is peace.

It understands how much you want it to stay, how much you want to meet it, hold it, hang out with it forever. And it has compassion for how difficult you find it when you think you may be miscarrying. It has compassion for you, but it wants you to know that whatever happens, it is at peace, it loves you, and it will always be in communion with you. It will always be in communion with you, whether or not it is born to you, you will still be able to commune with it, love it, talk with it, pray with it when you are eighty. It will always be there.

If it is not born to you it will be like a guardian angel for you for ever. It will always be there, listening to you, loving you, knowing everything about you.

It is grateful.
It knows you.
It loves you.
It is at peace
And it wishes the same for you also.
